The early Art Nouveau style at the beginning of the 20th century was characterized by natural floral patterns with a soft undulating line play. The patternists drew inspiration from gardening and meadow flora. The little margue rite was one of the most popular floral motifs in the wallpaper of the time. Here the stems are arranged so that they form a cohesive line pattern on the wall.
