'Toh' - meaning tube in Japanese reflects the shape of the graceful bamboo plant. The roots of rain chain goes way back to the age of Nara period (710-794 CE). Back then, when there were only natural materials available, bamboo (Take) was the most popularly used item for rain chains. “Take” (Bamboo) has its design from such a time, with beautiful curbs that resembles bamboo joints, but made with high durable stainless steel to fit the needs of modern architectures. It is simple yet elegant in style.
The “Toh” design rain chain is a simple yet elegant cylinder shaped rain chain. It is made of stainless steel, coated with fluorine to protect the high quality hairline finish. “Toh” comes in 3 different length, from 97mm, 77mm to 57mm and is 45mm in diameter. The space between the connected pipes is set to 38mm, calculated to bring out the most beautiful flow of rain water. Connecting differing length of pipes will also attractively enhance the rhythmical sounds of water streaming down the rain chain.
