SKU PAM_PH4

The Helmeted Guineafowl is a distinctive African gamebird that was first introduced to New Zealand in the 1860s.

Her slate grey plumage is speckled with numerous white spots, her neck is short and featherless, and her small bare head is just a bony helmet. Skin on the lower face and upper neck is sky blue with red-tipped wattles and a darker blue throat flap.

To be honest this small plump humped backed chicken-sized bird is often overshadowed by peacocks and parrots. Nelson based artist H.O.M decided to take some of her feathers and adapt them (she found the feathers at a Nelson farm and still wonders if actually it may be that of a Peahen?).  Digitizing them and enlarging them she found intricate patterning and interesting design opportunities - so here you have Guinea Fowl Mural Wallpaper.

This wallpaper is fully customiseable for your project. Contact us at info@theinside.co.nz to see what we can do for you. It can be printed on a variety of substrates such as vinyl, textured wallpaper or even grasscloth. The image can be printed at different scales so the feathers are larger or smaller depending on your taste.

All of our Pango and Ma collection can be turned in to fabrics too.
